Hair Transplant Surgery
Hair Transplant Surgery is the only treatment for hair loss that can restore hair to areas that have gone bald. Hair Transplants work by transplanting hairs from the back of the the head, which is known at the permanent area. These hairs are transplanted to the areas where you have seen hair loss.
There are two styles of Hair Transplant Surgery, Follicular Unit Transplant(FUT) and Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE). The difference between the two styles is how the donor hair is extracted or harvested.
In FUT, a “strip” of skin is taken from the back of the scalp, which is then dissected under a microscope into the individual groups of hairs. These are then transplanted back into the scalp where they are needed.
In FUE, the follicular units are extracted using a small “drill bit” individually . These individual grafts are then transplanted back into the scalp where they are needed. This style of Hair Transplant Surgery leaves very small dot scars rather than a thin line scar like FUT.
